The BARDC manages the co-ordination between local institutions and is a point of contact for airlines, thus promoting the possibility of establishing new air services to Barcelona.

The active support of the four members of the BARDC guarantees institutional commitment and support towards new, innovative and promotional activities designed at promoting its air links.

  • Use market research to find opportunities for opening new air routes out of Barcelona Airport.
  • Joint viability analysis of the routes with airlines, making use of the market research data.
  • Develop promotional activity aimed at promoting the commercial launch of the routes in question.

Promotional activities

Promotional activity is carried out at a local level although it can occasionally be organized in the origin markets of new routes.

  • Meetings, visits and contacts with airlines.
  • International commercial missions and promotional activities.
  • Communications campaigns for new flights.
  • Taking part in trade fairs and other events in the sector
